Culinary Dropout reveals opening date of 1st Alabama restaurant at Birminghamâs The Summit
Culinary Dropout will open its first Alabama location at Birmingham’s The Summit on March 20.
The restaurant is now hiring, according to its website.
Fox Restaurant Concepts, founded by James Beard-nominated restaurateur Sam Fox, announced the restaurant’s coming back in 2022.
Culinary Dropout has locations in Arizona, Colorado, North Carolina, Texas, and one coming soon in Atlanta.
Termed by some in the restaurant sector as a gastropub, Culinary Dropout mixes comfort food and cocktails with live music.
The menu, which varies which each location, features salads, sandwiches, snacks and desserts.
One favorite is the 36-Hour Slow Roasted Pork Ribs, basted in jalapeño barbecue sauce.
There’s also the house made soft pretzels, with what’s called “soul-warming” provolone cheese fondue.
For those looking for cocktails, the restaurant offers the El Matador, made with añejo tequila, elderflower liqueur, ginger agave and a dash of orange bitters. There’s also Room Service, shaken and served with American gin, lemon, strawberry and topped with wine.
